Alia Lescoulie
Alia Lescoulie is a chemistry undergraduate at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. She started participating in research as a freshman and has worked on computational research. Since then developing skills in both chemistry and coding. Her research has consisted of applying computational methods to different problems in chemistry.
Alia is interested in utilizing software to study the intersection of biology, chemistry, and physics. She participated in the 2021 SPIDAL REU and worked on developing tools for analyzing molecular dynamics data, in particular the MDPOW package. Her work focused on obtaining data from free energy perturbation simulations. The goal is developing methods of predicting convergence of simulations calculating free energy.
Outside of research she also enjoys computer tinkering, biking, and city planning games.
