Chan Zuckerberg Initiative grant to support MDAnalysis
The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative recognized our MDAnalysis software with an Essential Open Source Software for Science (EOSS) grant.
The grant titled MDAnalysis: Faster, Extensible Molecular Analysis for Reproducible Science aims to improve and maintain high-performance tools for analysis of biological systems at the molecular scale and incentivize scientists to drive transparent and reproducible research.
The $374,087 grant will provide funding to improve and maintain the MDAnalysis software over the next two years. More details can be found in the MDAnalysis Blog Post Chan Zuckerberg Initiative EOSS4 Award .
ASU News interviewed Oliver about the grant and what it means for the project — see ASU professor awarded Chan Zuckerberg Initiative grant to support software essential to biomedicine .
About MDAnalysis
The MDAnalysis package is one of the most widely used Python-based libraries for the analysis and manipulation of molecular simulations. The objective of MDAnalysis is to provide simple, flexible, and efficient means of handling molecular structure data from simulations and experiments and support research in biophysics, biochemistry, materials science and beyond.
MDAnalysis is a fiscally-sponsored project of NumFOCUS, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the open source scientific computing community.
